MECAFLOW makes workshop management free for vocational mechanical engineering schools

Press release·July 12, 2026

Bienne (BE), July 12, 2026. MECAFLOW, the Swiss workshop management platform published in Bienne by Nexus Studios, is now free and unlimited for every vocational mechanical engineering school in Switzerland. The goal: to put industry standards — CMMS, Lean, competency tracking — within reach of every training workshop, at no software cost.

One tool for the whole training workshop

MECAFLOW brings together on a single platform the real-time workshop floor plan, the CMMS (breakdown reporting and preventive maintenance), tool and drawer management, competency tracking for the CFC training plan, and the safety register. Every machine carries a QR code, every person a PIN code: no sensor or wiring is required.

Free, no credit card, made in Switzerland (data in Europe)

For schools, access is free — no credit card, no limit on machines or apprentices, no advertising and no data resale. Data is stored on infrastructure in Europe and processed in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), with information about minors kept to a minimum.

Why free

The model is deliberate: industrial companies, through a subscription offer, fund free access for schools. Nexus Studios is betting that a well-equipped training workshop trains apprentices who are closer to the standards expected in the workplace — a benefit for the whole industry.

« A training workshop shouldn't have to choose between teaching the old-fashioned way and paying for an overpriced industrial licence. By making MECAFLOW free for schools, we're putting Industry 4.0 tools into apprentices' hands. »— The Nexus Studios team, publisher of MECAFLOW

Frequently asked questions

Is MECAFLOW really free for schools?

Yes — no credit card, no limit on machines or apprentices, no advertising and no data resale. Industrial companies have a subscription-based offer.

Where is the data hosted?

On infrastructure in Europe (MECAFLOW is published in Switzerland, in Biel/Bienne), encrypted in transit and processed in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Do we need to install hardware?

No. MECAFLOW works with QR codes and PIN codes, with no sensor or wiring. An optional hardware range (tablets, NFC badges) is available.
