1 · QR + PIN, zero hardware
The operator logs parts and scrap at the workstation with a QR code and PIN. No sensor required: the workshop runs from day one.
2 · Measurement connects
The Sylvac caliper sends the dimension over Bluetooth, the Haimer bench imports tool offsets. Re-entry disappears, traceability arrives.
3 · Machines report on their own
Once MTConnect is connected, OEE calculates without intervention. OPC-UA and Fanuc FOCAS follow next, assessed case by case depending on the machine.

Do we need to replace our machines to get OEE?
No. If your CNC controls expose MTConnect, OEE is calculated automatically across your existing fleet. Otherwise, the operator logs at the workstation with a QR code and PIN, and you connect the machines later, without changing everything at once.
MTConnect is available, but what about OPC-UA and Fanuc FOCAS?
MTConnect works today. OPC-UA and FOCAS are set up on a case-by-case basis, because it depends on the machine, its version, and what it actually exposes. We check before promising anything.
Our measuring instruments are old — are they compatible?
The Sylvac caliper communicates over Bluetooth. For the rest, MECAFLOW accepts Digimatic output, keyboard emulation, or an RS232 link depending on the equipment. An instrument without an interface is still entered by hand, but tracked at the workstation.
Where is the data reported by the machines hosted?
On European infrastructure, under your organization. The protocols used — MTConnect, OPC-UA, Bluetooth — are open standards; no data is locked into a proprietary format.
