What shop floor managers ask

How does an operator report production?

At the station, on a tablet: they pick their work order, enter good parts and scrap. The standard flow takes three taps, no keyboard — built for a shop floor with gloves, noise and urgency.

Does MECAFLOW track the real progress of a work order?

Yes. Progress is calculated from parts actually reported at the station (e.g. 18/25), not from checked-off steps. Scrap is reasoned, and actual worked time is compared against planned time.

Can a recurring work order be reused?

Yes. A standard order can be saved as a template (material, tolerances, routing, machine, planned time). When creating a new order, "Start from a template" pre-fills everything; you only adjust quantity and due date.

Do you need sensors to track production?

No. Station reporting (QR + PIN) is enough to manage progress, scrap and time. Automatic counting via sensor or machine connection can be added later, at your own pace.

A part goes through six operations: does the order close after the first one?

No. Every operation in the routing has its own progress, its own station and its own time. The order only closes once the last operation is finished, and the quantity travels down the routing: if milling turns out 98 parts out of 100, inspection expects 98, not 100. The question "where has the batch got to?" finally has a real answer — "100 turned, 98 milled, 0 inspected".

How do I quote a run of 500 when the time I have is for a run of 100?

Every operation carries two times: Tr, the setup, paid once whatever the quantity, and Tu, the time per part. A run comes to Σ (Tr + Tu × quantity). A single time per order — an opaque batch total — cannot be re-quoted; two figures can.

Can I answer "can you get it out for Friday?"

Yes. The Station workload screen adds up the work actually committed on each machine — the setup still to do, plus the unit time multiplied by the parts left to make — and shows the hours, what is already late, and the date the station frees up. In working days: a part is not promised for a Saturday. Work that is attached to no station is shown separately, rather than passed over in silence.
