MF·PRJ  Projects family

From idea to delivery. And margin, live.

Most shops run their jobs from memory and a spreadsheet. At MECAFLOW, a project is connected to the shop floor: it brings together its manufacturing orders, the hours actually logged, the purchases committed and any non-conformities. You no longer calculate margin — you read it.

What the Projects family does

A job, everything it contains, in one place

A generic project management tool has no idea what's happening at the machine. Here, the project is connected to the shop floor: what you see is what actually happened.

ORDERS
Manufacturing orders belong to the project

Link an order: its hours, its good parts and its scrap flow into the job on their own.

HOURS
Direct time logging, even without an order

Study work, meetings, travel, internal jobs: log time straight onto the project. A forgotten clock-out is auto-capped at 8 h.

MARGIN
Sold versus consumed

Sale price against valued hours and materials committed: margin is read live, never recalculated by hand.

MILESTONES
Phases, milestones and "ready to bill"

Study → purchasing → machining → inspection → delivery. A milestone can carry an amount and flag what's left to invoice.

PURCHASES
Materials and purchases charged to the job

Purchase requests linked to the job, with a need-by date — and an alert as soon as a supply order runs late.

QUALITY
Non-conformities flow through

A defect on a part from the job becomes a blocking point on the project, with its rework cost.

TEAM
Who's on it, and how much

Project team and real workload: you see straight away who's stretched across too many jobs at once.

CLIENT
Ring-fenced client portal

The client tracks progress, uploads drawings and leaves comments — without ever seeing your costs or internal notes.

REVIEW
Planned versus actual, at closeout

Hours, materials, delay, scrap: the review helps you quote the next job more accurately.

How it works

Three steps, and the job runs itself

No prior setup required: a title, a date, and the rest fills in from the shop floor.

1

Create the job

Title, client, promised delivery date. A template sets up phases and tasks in one click — you adjust from there.

2

Connect the shop floor

Manufacturing orders join the project. From then on, every logged hour and every declared part feeds it.

3

Read, decide, deliver

Progress, margin and delays display themselves. You make the calls; at closeout, the review feeds your next quote.

Frequently asked questions

What shop owners ask

Does this replace my ERP?

No, and that's not the goal. MECAFLOW doesn't invoice and doesn't handle your accounting: it flags what's ready to bill, and you issue the invoice in your usual software. What it brings is what an ERP can't see — the hours actually spent at the machine and the scrap, so the real margin on the job.

Where do a project's hours come from?

From two sources, with no double entry. Manufacturing orders linked to the project automatically feed in the hours declared at the workstation. And anyone can log time directly on the project, even without an order: study work, meetings, travel, internal jobs. A forgotten clock-out is capped at eight hours, and night hours are never counted.

Can the client see my costs?

Never. The client portal shows progress, milestones, shared documents and messages — nothing else. Cost price, margin, hourly rate and internal notes never cross that line. Access is via a private link, with an optional access code, revocable in one click.

Do I need to set everything up before starting?

No. A project is created in thirty seconds with a title and a delivery date. Templates — standard client job, new machine, audit — pre-fill phases and tasks in one click, and you adjust from there. Clients who start out almost always begin from a blank page: the tool is built for that.

Finally know what each job earns.

Real hours, materials committed, live margin — and a portal to reassure your client. Made in Switzerland · data in Europe, no double entry.
